Special Events

Events Coordinator
The Events Coordinator is a key team member for Annex Cat Rescue. We are a 100% volunteer charity dedicated to addressing the plight of homeless cats in Toronto, through our adoption program, TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) and ongoing medical care.

ACR’s presence at events is part of our community outreach, as well as an opportunity to fundraise and recruit potential volunteers.

The main duties of the Coordinator are:

• Submit applications for various community events, such as the Little Italy Festival, and communicate with venues
• Assist with booth set up/take down and presentation
• Schedule event volunteer shifts
• Liaise with craft makers
• Provide event details and feedback to our communications team for promotion
• Generate ideas for new events/participation opportunities
• Assist the Fundraising Coordinator with our annual Scotiabank Charity Challenge Marathon team

We have an enthusiastic group of event volunteers and we’re looking for an energetic, organized individual to coordinate them! We would like to put together an events team with multiple organizers, so get in touch if some or all of the above sounds interesting.

Qualifications:

• Events experience and/or education
• A minimum of 6 months’ commitment
• Highly organized
• Great interpersonal skills
• Able to commit several hours per week during key events
• A love for cats!

This role does require some lifting of supplies, tables etc. Though a car is not required, access to one would certainly be an asset for transporting supplies and equipment. Weekend availability is a must as most of the events take place on a Saturday or both days of the weekend.

Interested parties please submit a resume to volunteer@annexcatrescue.ca (Please note this is a coordinator position.)

Event Volunteers
Each year the Annex Cat Rescue participates in a number of special events, such as street festivals and craft shows, in order to educate people about the plight of homeless cats in the GTA, to find homes for those who are adoptable, to collect donations and to sell our own crafts in order to pay our vet bills. We’re always in search of positive, friendly people to staff our tables in shifts of about 2 hours. This is a great way to get to know us as well as to help the kitties.

If you, or anyone you know, is interested in becoming a volunteer, or expanding your work within the organization, please e-mail us, or apply online.
