Fundraising Coordinator

Annex Cat Rescue, now in its 20th year, receives no government funding and relies exclusively on personal and corporate donors. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, animal-loving person committed to the non-profit concept to head up our fundraising efforts. This position offers not only the satisfaction of aiding homeless cats but also the enjoyment of creative work with a community of lively, variously talented volunteers.

Graduates of post-secondary fundraising programs or students nearing completion of their course are especially encouraged to apply, as are retired fundraising professionals.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop an annual giving plan
• Lead solicitations of corporate sponsors, financial gifts, and gift-in-kind donations
• Develop donor materials, presentations, and mailings
• Help increase communications with supporters via email newsletters and social media
• Handle donor acknowledgements and thank-you letters
• Enter data and maintain the database
• Lead special fundraising events, such as the Scotiabank Charity Challenge
• Serve as an ambassador for the organization and promote a positive image/reputation

Skills
• Previous experience or strong interest in working with a non-profit
• Practical knowledge of fundraising and/or grant writing
• Strong writing skills to craft persuasive, donor-centred content
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
• Experience working with Salesforce or another CRM a strong asset
• Working knowledge of social media an asset
• Self-starter with a high level of motivation and initiative
• Ability to work autonomously

Time Commitment
We are seeking a volunteer who can commit to a minimum of six months’ service. Hours are flexible, but do expect to work approximately five hours a week. We would like to put together a fundraising team with multiple volunteers, so get in touch if some or all of the above sounds interesting.
